Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Quadient AS-650?

The Quadient AS-650 is a heavy-duty monochrome inkjet addressing system designed for high-volume production. It prints up to 26,000 #10 envelopes per hour (or 34,000 postcards/hr) at up to 600 × 600 dpi using HP Thermal Inkjet technology, making it one of the fastest addressing systems in its class.

What is the difference between the AS-650 and the MACH 7?

The AS-650 is a high-speed monochrome (black ink) addressing system optimized for maximum throughput — up to 26,000 envelopes/hr. The MACH 7 is a full-color system that prints logos, graphics, and promotional messages in vibrant color at up to 1,200 × 1,200 dpi, but at a lower speed of 10,000 envelopes/hr. The AS-650 is ideal for transactional mail at scale; the MACH 7 is ideal when full-color envelope marketing is the priority.

Can the AS-650 print USPS barcodes?

Yes. The AS-650 prints USPS Intelligent Mail barcodes (IMb) for Full-Service compliance, qualifying your mailings for automation postage discounts and enabling mail tracking through the USPS system.

What media sizes does the AS-650 handle?

The AS-650 handles media from 5" × 3" (minimum) up to 17" × 13.5" (maximum), including standard #10 envelopes, postcards, flats, and irregular pieces up to 9.5 mm thick.

Does the AS-650 print in color?

The AS-650 is a monochrome system — it prints in black ink. However, it does support spot-color printing for logos and graphics, which can improve envelope open rates compared to plain black-only addressing. For full-color envelope printing, the Quadient MACH 7 is the recommended upgrade.

Can I see a demo of the AS-650 at Mail Movers?

Yes — as an authorized Quadient dealer, Mail Movers can arrange a live demonstration of the AS-650 at our Salisbury, MD facility. Contact us to schedule a demo and discuss how the AS-650 fits your production volume and budget.

What is the feeder capacity of the AS-650?

The AS-650 feeder holds up to 500 #10 envelopes, allowing for extended unattended production runs. Optional conveyor, stacker, and dryer accessories are available for even higher throughput configurations.

How does the AS-650 connect to my computer?

The AS-650 connects via USB 3.0, Ethernet, or WiFi, making it easy to integrate into any office or production network. It includes drivers for Windows 7 and higher.
